Dick’s chili recipe from Lew Nyman K1AZE
3 lbs ground beef
2 lbs Italian ground sausage meat (or turkey meat)
2 large chopped onion
2 #10 cans chopped or diced tomatoes (use miniature diced)
5 chopped jalapenos peppers (clean out the seeds first)
5 4 oz cans diced green chiles
5 tsp garlic powder
5 tsp oregano
add hot sauce to taste
Brown meat with onions and drain well. Combine all ingredients in a stock pot and let simmer for several hours. Serves about 12 people. Dick used to use turkey meat with the ground beef. But I changed it to sweet Italian sausage meat. It made it more tasty. You can adjust the quantities for fewer servings. You can use the smaller cans of diced tomatoes instead of the very large #10 tins. This chile is a big hit at field day down here in my club. It draws out a lot of visitors.
